Renowned commentator, Aakash Chopra lauded Mumbai Indians’ recent performance against Delhi Capitals where the Rohit Sharma and Co. registered a rather comfortable 5-wicket victory. The former Indian player was effusive in his praise for Quinton de Kock and also called the South African wicket-keeper batsman as a match-winner.
“The Mumbai Indians batting is extremely fearless. They are playing in a carefree manner. Rohit got out early but that was not an issue. What is the sort of batting Quinton de Kock is doing. He showed that he is an absolute match-winner.”
Aakash Chopra also reflected on Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan’s contribution in the game. Mumbai Indians, though started the run-chase on a bit slower side, however, invaluable contributions from Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav helped the side reach home comfortably in the end.
“The start was a little slow but when Quinton started to hit Nortje he showed his quality. And Suryakumar Yadav came with him and sky is the limit is what I say for him. Ishan Kishan also played well.”
Akash Chopra stated that Suryakumar Yadav was the game-changer in the match. He lauded Yadav’s ability to play all around the ground. The Indian commentator feels that Suryakumar Yadav is likely to wear Indian jersey before the end of 2020.
“The icing on the cake with a cherry on top was the flick he played of Rabada’s bowling for a six. My jaw dropped after watching that six. I said that this player should play for India.”
“I am saying that before the end of 2020, he will be a part of the Indian team and I feel he will also play matches for the Indian team. This is a voice that is coming from my heart for this player and hopefully, that happens.”
