Breaking News: Justin Langer resigns as Head Coach of Australia

JUSTINLANGER

Australia’s men’s cricket team head coach Justin Langer resigned from his post and this came as shocker as ardent cricket fan under his coaching Kangaroos delivered back to back brilliant performance in recently concluded T20 world cup where they emerged as champion followed by a victory against England in Ashes by 4-0.

The news about his resignation was confirmed by Sports Management company DSEG who said his client is no longer associated as coach of the national side.

“our client Justin Langer has this morning tendered his resignation as coach of the Australian mens cricket team”.

“The resignation follows a meeting with Cricket Australia last evening. The resignation is effective immediately.”

Cricket Australia accepted the resignation of Head Coach Justin Langer and the post was shared on their official social media handle.

Former Australian cricket player Mathew Hayden and Ricky Ponting lambasted on cricket Australia with the way they have handled the case of Justin Langer who has done so much for Australian national side.

“I think it’s a really sad day as far as Australian cricket is concerned. And if you look back, it’s been a really poor six months. I think of the way that Cricket Australia as a whole have handled some of the better people in Australian cricket, Justin Langer and Tim Paine, I think it’s been almost embarrassing with the way they’ve handled those two cases,” said Ponting as quoted by Cricket Australia.

“It was absolutely clear that no one backed him. If you listen to the Australian captain the other day did not mention once any kind of commendation or support for him, I don’t think (Justin) would be going very well at all. That would be extremely hurtful.

“The whole thing just reeks of being orchestrated, basically from the moment all of this garbage started coming out (about Langer’s coaching style) in winter last year. You could see the writing was on the wall,” concluded Matthew Hayden.

Australian cricket team will be next facing Sri Lanka for a five match T20 International series at home. In place of Langer , Andrew McDonald has been appointed as the interim coach of the national team.
