Ashley Giles, director of cricket was sacked few days ago followed by Head Coach Chris Silverwood has been removed from his position post Ashes debacle.

“It’s been an absolute honour to be England Head Coach, and I’m extremely proud to have worked alongside our players and staff. I want to thank them all for the hard work and commitment they have given during my time in the role and I wish them very best going forward” said Silverwood as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

“The last two years have been very demanding but I have really enjoyed my time with the team and working with Rooty and Morgs, and I am very proud of this group considering the challenges. I leave with fond memories and I am now looking forward to spending some quality time at home with my family and embracing the next chapter,” concluded Chris Silverwood.

England will be next locking horns against West Indies for a three match series which will start from March 8th 2022. Taking about their recent white ball performance against Caribbean side where they lost five match T20 series by 2-3 under the leadership of Eoin Morgan.

However, post Ashes debacle Joe Root as leader is facing extreme scrutiny and there have been voice raised in English cricket fraternity to remove Root as leader and replace him with Stokes as leader of England red ball side.
