Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 : This Aussie batter thinks Australia have been outstanding despite battering loss!

After 2 back-to-back 3rd Day losses against India at the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2023, Australia are aiming to stage a comeback in the decisive 3rd Test at Indore. The Aussies will be missing some key players in their line-up with Captain Pat Cummins being the major absentee.

Steve Smith is in line to lead the team and David Warner has also been sent back home after sustaining an injury in the 2nd Test at Delhi. There is a lot to play for in the next 2 matches and India having won the last 2 BGT series could win their 3rd in a row.

They will play with further more intensity because another win will book them a spot at the ICC World Test Championship final for the 2nd time in a row where they will again face Australia at the one-off test at Oval.

Meanwhile, Australia’s explosive hitter Glenn Maxwell has shared his thoughts about the team that lost twice in a row.

The 34-year-old said that the Aussies have performed extremely well except barring India’s 3rd innings smashing of the Aussies. He said that it is never easy playing against India at India but Maxwell thinks that the baggy greens have always been in the fight.

“I think they’ve showed a lot of fight. Bar that one session I thought they were outstanding. It’s bloody difficult over there – it’s not an easy place to play, it’s so foreign for us.”

“At the start of day three I thought we were well ahead in the game, and to be ahead of India at any stage of a Test match over there is a sign we’re doing the right things, it’s just doing it for a little bit longer.”

Glenn Maxwell will travel to India for the 3-match ODI series starting after the Test series and right before the big Indian summer of IPL.
