This is exactly what happened with Bhowneesh Mendiratta, who finally got what he deserved after saying in an interview that he would do anything to represent his country at the Paris Olympics in 2024. Now that he has earned his callup, he will be itching to go to Paris and bring laurels to the nation.

Early Life

Bhowneesh Mendiratta, who was born and brought up in Faridabad, started his early life as a normal boy who had little interest in sports. But in the year 2014, something hit him, and he suddenly got into shooting. In the year 2016, he started competing in shooting tournaments and graduated high school in 2017 from Delhi Public School, Faridabad. He then went to Delhi University to pursue graduation, but his main focus always remained on shooting, and now he is one step closer to achieving his dream.

Shooting Career

He started his career in shooting as a double trap shooter, but since this shooting category was discontinued at the Olympics, Mendiratta shifted his focus towards the trap category. His national coach, Vikram Singh Chopra, has had a huge role to play in Mendiratta’s shooting career and success in the same.

Bhowneesh Mendiratta’s first major achievement in shooting came when he won a silver medal in the 2022 ISSF World Cup in the team event in the trap competition. 2022 was his breakthrough year, as it was that year only when he got the quota berth to the 2024 Paris Olympics. He came in fourth at the 2022 World Shotgun Championship and earned his ticket to Paris.

Bhowneesh Mendiratta is currently ranked 26th in the world in the men’s trap shooting category. Seeing his growth in the past few years, India is very hopeful of an excellent performance from him at the Olympics.
