The ongoing series between India and Australia has been shaped on an interesting stage with two matches to go in the remaining four-match series. There was a lot of confusion about whether the third test will be scheduled in Sydney or not as the number of cases has been surfaced in Australia in huge numbers so it was expected that the third test may be conducted in Melbourne but it is officially confirmed that Sydney will be hosting the third test match between host and visitors which will be scheduled on January 7th 2021.

But Cricket Australia interim CEO Nick Hockley remained committed to Sydney according to a report in Fox Sports.

Also organizing the fourth test match in Brisbane is also in a dicey situation based on the current situation which has seen a huge increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Australia. The Queensland government has imposed strict restrictions to restrict COVID-19 cases in the region and if that happens players may have to quarantine themselves before playing the Brisbane test which is ideally not possible.

Also, there has been no clarity that how many fans in numbers will be allowed to visit the stadium to watch the third test match in Sydney. And Cricket New South Wales is hoping that medical officials will allow the half stadium to be filled as fans bring vibes with them when they cheer for their favorite team on the ground. However final decision regarding this will be expected to be taken in the first week of January 2021.

India will be looking to repeat the same feat which they did when they last toured Australia in 2018-19 and where the visitors clinched their first Test series victory on the Australian soil.
