Ashley Young step closer to Inter Milan move

If the rumors surrounding the Italian transfer markets are to believe, Inter are in advanced talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils for a potential deal for Ashley Young. Inter are assumed to be very much in for the right-back/left-back, Ashley Young, and the reports from Sky Sports and Gianluca Di Marzio suggest the same.

Ashley Young joined Manchester United back in 2011 from Aston Villa. Under Sir Alex Ferguson’s tutelage, the player went on to win the Premier League title, FA Cup and EFL Cup. Also, Under Jose Mourinho, he won the Europa League to get the Champions League qualification after the gap for two years.

The England international has 6 months left in his contract and can interact with the clubs outside England over a potential free transfer at the end of the season. The player can join any club if he wishes to run down the contract. Last year, the player signed a one-year contract extension with the club and has stayed back at Old Trafford.

The player who is on the wage books of Manchester United since 2011 has made 18 appearances, this season. In 1313 minutes on the field as in first eleven or coming on as a substitute, Ashley Young has found the back of the net on one occasion and has provided the assist once for the club.

It remains interesting to see that will the Premier League giants allow their club captain to join the Nerazzurri side on a Bosman departure at the end of the season or will demand a nominal fee for the player.

After the defeat of Manchester City in the Premier League game, Manchester United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rescinded himself from making the comment regarding the future of the faithful servant of the club. Ashley Young was left out of Manchester United’s matchday squad in the derby clash of Carabao Cup semifinal first leg. The Norweigan manager told;

“It was not the right time” “We can’t weaken ourselves, we need to strengthen ourselves, if any movement is going to happen.”

The pundits also believe that no decision has been made by the Stretford End side regarding Ashley Young’s transfer. Also, the transfer of the player within this months seems interesting as United might have to sign a back up if Young leaves this window even though the team has backups like Diogo Dalot and Ethan Laird. It is understood that the future of the player is expected to become clear in the next 24 hours.
