Ajinkya Rahane’s Return in India’s Test Squad is a Perfect Fairy Tale Story in Cricket

The number of times you have been defeated yet had the fortitude to get back up, admit your error, and win the next battle is how often you are considered a true warrior.

Ajinkya Rahane is the only name that may be used to describe this line.

The guy who had masterfully guided the Indian test squad to a series triumph over Australia found himself in a rut after his leadership was called into question and he was shown the door.

Rahane played his last test match in 2022, against South Africa in Test format, couldn’t perform to his expectations and his other debacle in the past meant that there is no space for him in India’s Test setup.

He was India’s vice captain he was shown the doors and most cricket fans thought that it will be the end of the road for Rahane.

As they say, “Never say Never,” he had confidence in his skills and performed brilliantly in domestic events, giving him the courage to enter the arena and express himself in the middle.

He simply did that when everyone was surprised how CSK went for him, he delivered with his willow, he has scored 209 runs in his five innings at an astounding average of 52.25 and his strike rate of 199.04 have been exceptional, which itself is a daunting number.

When you closely observe his batting, he has introduced some quality shots all around the corner which is another surprising thing about him.

Rahane is given opportunity to bat top of the order, given the amount of ball he is getting helps him to build his score.

The credit for his batting should be given to MS Dhoni, Chennai skipper who knows very well how to rotate his troops and Rahane’s good performance have helped him to earn his place for World Test Championship Final against Australia scheduled in Oval between 7th to 11th June 2023.
