Zeeshan Siddiqui Biography
Zeeshan Ahmed Siddiqui, an Oman national cricket team player, was born in Pakistan on July 22, 1979. At the 2007 ACC Twenty 20 Cup, Zeeshan Siddiqui made his Omani national team debut. Since then, Zeeshan Siddiqui has played frequently for the team, including at list-A and Twenty 20 levels. Leg-spinning all-rounder Zeeshan frequently bats first.
Playing Cricket Career
At the Kuwait-hosted ACC Twenty20 Cup in the month of October of the year 2007, Zeeshan, a Karachi native, made his international debut for Oman at the age of 28. Zeeshan Ahmed Siddiqui participated in all six of Oman’s contests in that competition, including the championship game, in which Oman tied Afghanistan for the tournament’s first ACC title in any format. Zeeshan Siddiqui took more wickets (12) than any other Omani during the tournament, and his 8.50 average, which included 4/12 against Afghanistan in the group game, led to his selection as the game’s man of the match. In addition, Zeeshan Ahmed Siddiqui led the team with 34 runs against Malaysia while scoring 128 runs for Oman, second only to Adnan Ilyas.
In the month of November of the year 2007, Zeeshan played three matches at the 2007 World Cricket League Division Two event in Namibia, making his list-A debut. In the tournament’s championship match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), he amassed his first list-A half-century, 66 runs off 49 balls. Oman earned a spot in South Africa for the 2009 World Cup Qualifier by finishing second in WCL Division Two. Zeeshan Siddiqui scored 177 runs for the national cricket team of Oman in that competition, which was second only to Farhan Khan, and added another half-century with 50 runs against Scotland. Zeeshan Ahmed Siddiqui opened the batting with Rajesh Ranpura, scoring 31 runs off 19 balls, and then took 2/3 to help Oman defeat Bhutan by 124 runs.Zeeshan Ahmed Siddiqui participated in all seven of Oman’s group games at the World Twenty 20 Qualifier as well as the 15th-place playoff against Denmark, which Oman won to claim its sole victory of the competition. Zeeshan Siddiqui defeated the national cricket team of Denmark by scoring Oman’s highest total of the tournament (67 off 36 balls) before being caught by Freddie Klokker off Martin Pedersen. Zeeshan Ahmed Siddiqui finished the tournament with 119 runs, trailing only Jatinder Singh’s (136) total for Oman. However, Zeeshan Ahmed Siddiqui led Oman’s bowling attack with 12 wickets. Even though Zeeshan Siddiqui had the best stats (3/16) against Uganda, Oman lost by three wickets.
Zeeshan has continued to play frequently for Oman in ACC and ICC tournaments and is now regarded as one of the team’s veterans, despite the fact that the squad has failed to advance to any additional high-level associate championships. Zeeshan Ahmed Siddiqui made a score of 69 not out against Uganda in the 2013 WCL Division Three tournament before making a score of 64 against Italy in the fifth-place playoff. Another man-of-the-match effort occurred in Oman’s seven-wicket victory over Jersey at the 2014 WCL Division Four tournament in Singapore, where he struck 87 not out while starting with Zeeshan Maqsood.
On July 25, of the year 2015, Zeeshan Ahmed Siddiqui played his first Twenty 20 International (T20I) match for Oman against Afghanistan in the 2015 ICC World Twenty 20 Qualifier competition.
