Lionel Messi is one of the biggest stars of Football at the moment and he doesn’t need any introduction with the kind of accolades he has brought on the football turf is second to none .
The ace footballer recently won World Cup for his country in the year 2022. Here in this article we will delve deeply into “Napkin” which plays an important role in the life of Lionel Messi.
Let me reiterate that story for fans who aren’t aware with this fact- Messi was only 13 years old when he was signed up for Barcelona, on a piece of Napkin.
The same Napkin was supposed to undergoes auction in the month of March but got delayed due to some reasons and now the same stuff will undergoes auction as it will cost around $374,700-$624,500 and the onus to bid this stuff belongs to British Auction House Bonhams.
The other reason why it got delayed is based on the conflict between Horacio Gaggioli and Josep Minguella for claiming the holder of that napkin but the later stated in distinct media outlets, it was with him in last few decades.
“The Napkin agreement happened in the year 2000, when Messi’s father was doubtful about signing contract with other football franchise and wanted to take his son back to Argentina. In order to make sure, Barca don’t lose this opportunity they immediately ask Messi to sign contract on Napkin paper.

Back then Football Director, Carles Rexach said “This is best what could I do at that point in time as we wanted the services of wanna be future superstar player”.
Gaggioli, who was the brain behind convincing, Rexach to go for agreement, took those napkin as possession.
Messi spent 20 years with Barcelona where he clinched 10 La Liga Titles and 7 Copa Del Rey title along with Four Champions League trophy before moving to Paris Saint German.
Currently he is playing for US Club Inter Miami for which he is rendering his services.
