Tilak Varma scored his maiden T20I fifty but it was in vain as West Indies beat India by two wickets in the second T20I in Guyana on Sunday. Varma scored 51 off 41 balls but India was bundled out for 152 in their 20 overs. West Indies then chased down the target with seven balls to spare, Nicholas Pooran top-scored for the West Indies with his brilliant 67 off 40 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes.

India was off to a good start after opting to bat first, with opener Ishan Kishan putting on 27 runs. However, the innings lost its way after Kishan was dismissed at 27. However, he was eventually dismissed by Akeal Hosein for 51. India’s middle order failed to fire and they were eventually bowled out for 152. He was well supported by Shimron Hetmyer, who scored a crucial 22 off 22 balls. West Indies eventually reached their target with seven balls to spare. This win gives them a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
