While making an appearance on a Pakistani chat show in 2017, the 44-year-old former cricketer can be seen saying that he smashed a TV once because of his wife. He further stated that he lost his cool when he saw one of his daughters imitating an “arti” scene from a popular daily soap on Star Plus.

“I smashed my TV once, because of my wife. These daily soaps on Star Plus were quite popular then. I had asked my wife to watch them alone and not with the kids,” Afridi was seen replying to the host of the show.
Afridi noted that as soon as he saw that happening, he got out of his chair and “smashed” the TV inside the wall.
“I saw one of my kids performing ‘arti’ while watching a Star Plus show. I then smashed the TV inside the wall,” Afridi added.
The video is doing rounds on social media after Shoaib Akhtar made an explosive claim that former leg-spinner Danish Kaneria was not treated well by the other players because he was a Hindu. After Akhtar’s interview, Kaneria himself posted a video and thanked the Rawalpindi Express for telling the truth. He also said that soon he will be disclosing the names of the players too.
“Those who did not support me, I will make their names public soon. Having said that, I feel fortunate and honoured that I got to play for Pakistan,” Kaneria said in a video.
Afridi too jumped in the controversy and shared that the claims are not true as he “never came to know of any such thing” when he was playing.
