Veteran Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has revealed that Ahsan Ali can become one of the greats if he improves two aspects of his game.

The 26-year-old right-hand batsman has been playing since the age of 14 when he was selected in the Under-15 team of Pakistan. He went on to represent the nation in the Under-19 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. He played a handy knock of 30+ runs in the knock-out stage of the 2010 U-19 Cricket World Cup against India to take his team to the winning target.

Talking about the youngster, Hafeez said that he has the ability to make it big in the international circuit. But he has worked on his technique more if he wants to have a long career.

He further stated that he needs to be aware that his place in the side is not permanent and if he does not play well, then someone more deserving will take his place in the squad.

Ahsan performed well in the previous match on a difficult match. He needs to work a bit more on his technique and game awareness. The future is for them and I wish they play for Pakistan for a long time,” Hafeez said.

Ahsan Ali made his T20 International debut against Bangladesh earlier this month. In the first game, he made a quickfire 36 while he failed to open his account in the second game.

Mohammad Hafeez has been playing for the Men in Green since 2003 but it was in 2011 that he finally became a regular across all the formats. He has been a part of the team for last 16 years and has been regarded as one of the top all-rounders in the world.

Hafeez has scored over 12,000 international runs during his illustrious career and was recently called back into the team for th T20 International series against the Bangla Tigers.

Mohammad Hafeez scored 17 runs in the first game and followed it up with an amazing knock of 67 in the second game and helped Pakistan win the game by 9 wickets.

Both teams will now play 2 Test matches against each other. The first will commence from February 7 in Rawalpindi while the second Test match will be played in April in Karachi.
