Watch : IPL's first ever Irish signing Joshua Little talk about his first hand experience during Gujarat's 5-wicket win over Chennai!

Indian Premier League’s first ever Ireland representative, Joshua Little who was acquired by reigning IPL champions Gujarat Titans during the Mini-Auction received a first hand experience of what it is like to play in the richest cricket league in the world.

Little also became the first international player from Ireland to be purchased at the mini-auction earlier this year when GT bid INR 4.4 crore. Although Eoin Morgan was already playing for England when he made his debut for England, he is still the first Irishman to participate in the IPL.

Joshua Little was injured and missed the Pakistan Super League and Ireland’s visit of Bangladesh last month, proved to be too expensive for his team as he scored 41 runs in his four allotted overs. The youthful Irishman gave up 15 runs in his first over of the power play when he was bowling.

MS Dhoni later hit Little for a six and a four in the final over of the CSK innings, but the southpaw recovered well and only allowed three runs in the remaining four deliveries.

And after Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan sealed a win for Gujarat, the latter was handed the mic and he was joined by Joshua Little for a quick chat about his first experience in his debut IPL season’s debut match.

Rashid Khan asked him about the atmosphere, the game and the crowd. To that Little said that it was a great game to win against a side where he was actually a net bowler. He also said that it is a great honor for him to be first ever Irishman to play in the IPL in front of 100,000 people was a different feeling.

“First of all it was great to get the win that’s the most important thing. And secondly, obviously a great honor for myself, being the first Irish person to play in the IPL.”

Then Rashid Khan asked Joshua Little about his take on the grand opening ceremony and in response Little said – “Yeah, there was some new music I’ve never heard before that i really enjoyed. Some great Indian artists were on display today so it was unbelievable.”
