On Monday, April 17, against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli, who has been in outstanding form in the 2023 IPL, appeared to be in excellent form as he got a boundary on his second delivery of the innings.
However, he was quickly dismissed in an odd way. RCB needed to keep their innings going in order to chase down a mammoth 227 run total, and Kohli had already struck 6 runs in the first three deliveries. Although he attempted to drive a short delivery from CSK pacer Akash Singh, he received an inside edge that hit his pads and trickled down onto the stumps, and he was out the very next delivery.

When the bails started to light up, Kohli couldn’t believe his luck and Akash Singh was in a huff. The moment Kohli was dismissed, the camera turned to his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, who was also in shock. The way that Kohli got out left her speechless, as did Danish Sait, who co-stars with her as Mr. Nags on RCB Insider.

Before captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell handed CSK a taste of their own medicine, RCB lost another wicket, that of the left-hander Mahipal Lomror, in the powerplay. As RCB was 75/2 at the conclusion of the powerplay, Faf and Maxwell both launched an assault on the CSK bowlers.

After the field restrictions, Maxwell became even more irrational and continued to hammer the CSK bowlers on the little, decent pitch. They just had to keep going because the target was so challenging. Maxwell and Faf both reached their half-centuries and put together a 126-run partnership.
When RCB reached 141 in just 12 overs, it appeared they would easily win, but CSK staged a comeback by having both of them dismissed in quick succession. Despite Dinesh Karthik’s best efforts, RCB ultimately fell short by 8 runs, a painful defeat for the home team.
