Vitality Blast 2023: Brad Currie took Stunning Catch at the Boundary Line

Brad Currie: Vitality Blast T20

Sussex Cricketer Brad Currie took a stunner catch at the boundary, during his side’s T20 Blast fixture against Hampshire Hawks at The Hove on 16 June. It was one of the fantastic catches at the boundary rope in the T20 Vitality Blast league.

Hampshire required 23 runs off 11 balls. Benny Howell of Hampshire’s batter smashed the ball against Tymal Mills. It was a well-struck shot but Brad Currie out of nowhere sprinted and came from the square leg region towards the boundary rope and took a full stretch-dived catch. It was one of the most outrageous catches and a massive effort at the boundary.

The wicket came on the second ball of the 19th over by Tymal Mills. It looked like the ball would fly away to a six, but he got a wicket in the end. Howell scored 25 runs in 13 balls.

Sussex gave a target of 183, losing six wickets at the end of the 20th over. Oliver Carter scored 64 runs off 33 balls. Liam Dawson’s scored 59 runs in 34 balls. Sussex won the match by 6 runs.

Vitality Blast 2023: Currie Statement After the Match

I know I was playing an hour before. I was thinking of surely getting a chance to play one game, and yes, it has happened against Hampshire. It was brilliant for me to make a dream debut. I hope what I did to get noticed to get a few games in the future. Further, he also added now that everyone is talking about the catch, not talking about the bowling.

It was a quick scoring condition at the central ground Sussex, dragging things back into their favour. Hence it was one of the most brilliant catches by Currie and made a mark in the history of cricket in the Vitality Blast 2023.
