Ayanti-Reang

Under 19 women’s team player, Ayanti Raeng who played for Tripura has been found dead on her residence on Tuesday.

She was studying in class 10th standard and she belonged to a tribal family. The 16-year-old promising young girl hails from Taniani village under Udaipur subdivision, about 90 kilometres from Agartala.

Timir Chanda, Secretary of Tripura Cricket Board condemned her death, meantime the other players and officials visited her house and paid their sincere condolences on her demise.

Reang has been a member of Tripura’s Under 19 team for the last one year.

Chanda expressed his emotions to PTI  on her death where he added “She has been part of the state team from Under-16 days. She was quite promising. The news has left us in deep shock,”.

He further added that “She was doing perfectly fine till last season and then everything was closed because of the lockdown. We conducted some online classes but we were not aware about her family problems.”.

As per the reports are to be believed she committed suicide which is an alarming thing as she was just 16 years old and if the suicidal cases keep coming like this it is more threat to the progressive dimensions of the society and it will move the attention of people to the very important aspect of our life and i.e Mental Health.

This signifies that we are so busy in our life always thinking about our success and happiness that we even forget to sit down with our close peers and reflect on how things are going around in our life.
