The Hundred Mens Competition 2023: Quick 69 of Finn Allen Goes in Vain

Finn Allen

In yesterday’s match between Manchester Originals and Southern Brave, both teams showed their class. Finn Allen tried his best to set a big target for the opponent team, but the bowling of Southern Brave was not up to the mark. Due to a lack of quality bowling, the opponent’s team was able to reach the target with 4 balls to spare. This shows the quality of batting that was displayed by the Manchester originals. But at the same time, Finn Allen’s knock got the recognition that it deserved.

Important start given by the Finn Allen to the team:

The Southern Brave were the first ones to bat. That is when the responsibility was quite clear on the openers. They were supposed to give a good start. Finn Allen and Conway took that responsibility on top of their shoulders. They ensured that they delivered as per the plan.

Both the openers gave a phenomenal start of 122 runs. Finn Allen was the key player in this partnership, as he went on to score the majority of runs. The brilliant opening partnership by both players ensured that the batter who was going to bat next would be easily able to play his natural game. That is exactly what J. Vince, the Captain, did. This partnership ensured that both the players took the score to 196 runs without the loss of any other wicket. This was brilliantly done.

From Manchester Originals, the batters were under pressure, but that didn’t affect their game. Both the batters, that is, Philip Salt and Jos Butler, formed a phenomenal opening stand of 83 runs. Even after Philip Salt got out, the excellent contribution of the rest of the batters continued.

The bowlers of the Southern Brave were not able to restrict the opponent’s batters. Soon, the target was chased on the 96th ball of the match.

Batting stats of Finn Allen

  • Runs – 69
  • Balls – 38
  • 4s – 6
  • 6s – 5
  • Strike rate  -181.58

This was a total failure of the bowling unit of Southern Brave.
