Test recall could be a double edged sword for Rohit Sharma & Wriddhiman Saha

The upcoming South Africa test series will be remembered for resurrecting the test career of many Indian cricketers, who were neglected either due to their form or specialization in white ball cricket.
The likes of Rohit Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha will be making a grand comeback to the big format after almost a year. Both the players weren’t a natural choice for the squad, but the duo selection was determined by the failure of their contemporaries.

Wriddhiman Saha burst into the scene after Rishabh Pant consistent failures, on the other end, Rohit red hot form forced the selectors to test him for the final time. If big gun Rohit Sharma misfires, this shall be the final nail in the coffin.

Rohit Sharma has played 27 tests till date and scored 1585 runs at an average of 39.62. He has scored 3 test tons with the highest score of 177.

Now let’s look at Wriddhiman Saha test career, he played 32 tests and scored 1164 runs at an average of 30.63 that also includes 3 hundred and 5 fifties. His highest score is 117. In his short spanned career he took 75 catches and done 10 stumpings.

As we know Saha wicket-keeping skills are superior to Pant but lack the x-factor. If rumours are to be believed the team management is ready to groom Rishabh Pant for the future and will surely communicate with Saha for the upcoming tours.

KL Rahul is going through a lean patch and is shown exit doors, it is high time Rohit Sharma should grab the opportunity with both hands and establish himself as permanent test opener.
The first test match between India and South Africa will be played at Vishakhapatnam and looking at the weather conditions a heavy drizzle with rain is expected in the morning.
