Sunny Sandhu Heroic Performance Goes in Vain as DD Beats SS

A contribution of 57 runs by bat, and 2 wickets was not enough by Sunny Sandhu to make his team win. Even after making such a phenomenal contribution, Salem Spartans was not able to win the match. Spartans batted first and they even went on to give a good target.

However, the bowling of Salem Spartans was not up to the mark to stop Dindigul Dragons from getting to the target. But there is no doubt, that the contribution Sunny Sandhu made was certainly one of the best in the match. He might not have been able to make his team win, but his performance showed a strong character.

Key moment of the match and the performance of Sandhu

There were lots of ups and downs in the match. Sandhu ensured to maintain hope for his team in both innings. You can read the match-turning moments below.

  • Salem Spartans got a fine start of 27 runs by the opening pair. However, soon Gandhi was out on only 7 runs.
  • The match was going fine, but soon, the score for SS was 75/3.
  • Sandhu came up as a savior. He went on to score a brilliant 57 runs, only on 39 balls. He also went on to hit 4 sixes. This was truly a brilliant performance.
  • By the time Sandhu was out, the team score was 145/5.
  • In the next 12 balls, hardly 15 more runs were scored. No doubt, if Sandhu would have been there till the end, then the story could have been different for the Spartans.
  • In the second inning DD went on to score 163 runs on in 18.2 overs. This was cetainly a quick chase with 10 balls to spare.

This was certainly a very good match. With this win DD are on position 2 in the table. It’ll be exciting to find the winner of the tournament.
