London Spirit’s hopes of reaching the playoffs of the Women’s Hundred were dashed on Friday as they lost a thrilling match to Northern Superchargers by 1 run. Sarah Glenn despite her fantastic bowling performance failed to give her team the Win.
The Spirits were put into bat and scored 135 for 7 from their 100 balls, thanks to a brilliant 60 off 32 balls from Amelia Kerr. The New Zealand all-rounder struck nine fours in her innings and also took 2 for 24 with the ball. Sarah Glenn was the pick of the Spirit bowlers, taking 3 for 19.

In reply, Superchargers needed 136 to win from their 100 balls. They got off to a slow start, but Phoebe Litchfield and Jemimah Rodrigues put on a partnership of 49 to give them momentum.

Litchfield scored 38 from 34 balls, while Rodrigues made 30 from 20. With 10 balls to go, Superchargers needed 12 runs to win. They got 10 runs from the first 9 balls, but Glenn bowled a perfect last ball to deny them the win.
