Rohit Sharma posts a heart-warming birthday wish for wife Ritika on Instagram

Among the most adored celebrity couples in India are Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh. The vice-captain of India’s ODI cricket team often uploads photos with his wife whom he married four years ago and now they also have a baby named Samaira.

Ahead of the third and final one day international between India and West Indies which will be played at the Barabati stadium on Sunday, Rohit took to Instagram to share a sweet birthday wish for his wife.

Before getting married in 2015 Rohit and Ritika had been seeing each other for six years. They first met each other as professionals; Ritika is a sports event manager and she was Rohit’s personal manager as well.

Initially the duo used to meet up a lot for work purpose but soon their friendship turned into a love story and they decided to marry each other. Rohit propose to Ritika at the borivali sports club in Mumbai. Which is the same ground where he started his cricketing career at the age of 11 years.

Celebrating his wife’s birthday, the 32-year-old wrote, ““Many many happy returns my love, strength and game changer. Samaira and I are proud to have such a leading light in our lives.”

Talking about cricket, India last played at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack in late 2017 when they hosted Sri Lanka for a T20I. In that clash, the then stand-in skipper Rohit smashed a 13-ball 17. Currently, he is only nine runs shy of breaking a record held by Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya, who had amassed 2387 runs across formats while opening the innings in a single calendar year.

Rohit, who currently has 2,379 runs in 2019, in all likeliness will surpass the record in the third ODI. Not just in international cricket. Rohit has had a wonderful IPL as well this year, in which he led the Mumbai Indians to a record fourth title win.
