Ricky Ponting shares his 2 cents on Tendulkar-Kohli debate on the occasion of the former’s 50th Birthday!
As entire nation is celebrating Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s 50th Birthday today, former Australian Captain and Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting shared his 2 cents on the Virat Kohli-Sachin Tendulkar debate. A lot of people would avoid speaking on the subject but as we all know, Ricky Ponting is brave enough to voice his opinion.
Even during his playing days, Ponting never hesitated from arguing on the field. On the occasion of Sachin’s birthday, Ponting provided his thoughts on the matter. The 48-year-old had no shortage of appreciation for the Master Blaster as he suggested that Tendulkar is the most technically gifted batter ever.
The DC Head coach while sitting with Sanjana Ganesan said that Sachin was someone who would never let opposition team’s plan come into effect. Before turning 50, former Australia captain Ponting chose to reflect on Tendulkar’s extraordinary career by settling the best batter controversy with his illuminating remarks.
The head coach of the Delhi Capitals (DC) regarded former Indian captain Tendulkar as the best hitter he had ever seen. Ponting acknowledged that Tendulkar is arguably the best player of his time in an interview for The ICC Review.
“I’ve said forever Sachin’s technically the best batter that I’ve ever seen, and played with or against. Whatever plan that we came up with as a bowling group, he found a way to combat it, whether it was in India or Australia. It’s hard to rank and judge players as everyone is different and everyone plays the game differently. But certainly through the generation that I played, he was technically the best player that I saw.”
