During an event in Mumbai she stated “I have always wanted to join politics since childhood. My family has also been involved in grassroots politics, with my mother being the SARPANCH of our village”.
“If I get a chance to help people as an administrator, I would readily do so. But only after I finish my career as an athlete,” she further added.

Dutee Chand became a controversial figure after she revealed her sexual orientation as gay and may be seeking a political odyssey is a desperate attempt to change the heteronormative approach of the society.
May be like his own mother she also wants to work at the grass root level and improve the sports infrastructure in the country with a population of 1.3 billion.
