Pakistan has been a knack for producing some of the fastest and best pacers in the world. From Imran Khan to Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis to Mohammad Amir, the Men in Green have given some of the greatest bowlers to the game of cricket.

The latest crop of Pakistan bowlers is carrying on the legacy of being fast and accurate. Former Pakistan cricketer and commentator Ramiz Raja has revealed the name of one youngster who he thinks has become a “complete bowler” now.

After securing a victory over Bangladesh in the first Test, Raja noted that Shaheen Shah Afridi has now become a seasoned player and he will be important for Pakistan’s success in the longest format of the game.

“There are no concerns regarding Shaheen Shah Afridi since he has become a complete bowler,” Ramiz Raza said.

The left-arm fast bowler picked up four wickets in the first innings of the Test match and completely rattled Bangladesh’s batting lineup. He gave away just 53 runs in 21 overs at an economy rate of 2.43. He followed it by taking a single wicket in the second innings.

Shaheen Afridi has played 8 Tests for Pakistan, picking up 30 wickets at an economy rate of 3.13. He also has a five wicket-haul to his name.

On the other hand, Ramiz Raja also opened up about young sensation Naseem Shah, who picked up 5 wickets during the match. The former cricketer advised the youngster to work for his fitness if he wants to have a long career. He also urged the PCB to figure out Shah’s workload.

“Pakistan’s bowling attack is still developing. It is still not complete. Naseem Shah is young and he has already got injured, so Pakisstaan needs to figure out his workload. Naseem will get wickets for Pakistan and create excitement but you have to be careful with him and play him in selective matches. Naseem still needs to work on his fitness,” Raja added.

Pakistan scored a thumping victory over Bangladesh in the first Test in Rawalpindi. Babar Azam and Shan Masood smashed centuries in the first innings to take their side to 445. The bowling lineup of Pakistan did not let the Bangla Tigers put any kind of pressure on them and the won the game by an innings and 44 runs.

The second Test will be played in April in Karachi.
