Papua New Guinea’s team for T20 World Cup 2024 has been announced. Assadollah Vala has been appointed as the captain of the team, while CJ Amini has been made the vice-captain of the team. Papua New Guinea squad will participate in the T20 World Cup for the second time.
Earlier, he had also played in the 2021 T20 World Cup. The team has qualified for the T20 World Cup by performing well in the East Asia Pacific Regional Final. Assadollah Vala is one of 10 players for the 2021 campaign, while 2021 reserve player Jack Gardner has been selected in the 15-player group this time
Papua New Guinea has been placed in Group C for the T20 World Cup 2024. This group also includes teams from New Zealand, host West Indies, Afghanistan and Uganda. In such a situation, there is a big challenge before the team.

The team’s first match is against West Indies on June 2. After this they have to play Uganda on 5th June. After this, the team has to play the next match against Afghanistan on 13th June and at the end of the group stage, the team also has to play a match against New Zealand.
The PNG team will leave for the West Indies from Port Moresby on 13 May 2024. At the same time, before the 2 warm-up matches in Trinidad, all the players will participate in a training camp for 9 days.

Some players who went to the last T20 World Cup, now their training has become even better. For this reason he is feeling quite different. Last time our preparation was not that good due to Covid. However, this time we have made a lot of preparations. I am looking forward to the T20 World Cup because I know we are going to do better in it.
