Scottish cricketer Michael Alexander Jones was born on January 5, 1998. In the 2017–18 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series, Michael Jones played his first One Day International (ODI) for Scotland against Ireland. Michael Jones scored the most runs for Scotland (87) in the six-wicket loss.

Playing Cricket Career
Jones, who was raised in Ormskirk, Lancashire, attended Myerscough College and Ormskirk School. Michael Alexander Jones played club cricket for the team of Ormskirk Cricket Club in the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition as a graduate of the Lancashire Academy. Jones played for Durham, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire in county 2nd XI matches in the year 2017. Prior to the 2018 season, Michael Alexander Jones signed a senior academy deal with Durham and will also play for the team of Tynemouth Cricket Club.
In the 2017–18 Australian summer, Michael Alexander Jones played for the team of Torquay Tigers Cricket Club and amassed 573 runs at an average of 71.62, including three 100s and three 50s.
On June 9 in the 2018 County Championship game against Derbyshire, Michael Alexander Jones made his Durham first-class debut.

Michael Alexander Jones was chosen to represent the Glasgow Giants in the inaugural Euro T20 Slam cricket competition in the month of July of the year 2019. But the competition was didn’t hold the next month.
Jones was selected as a backup for Scotland’s Twenty 20 International (T20I) team in the month of October of the year 2021 in preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Josh Davey’s injury forced the addition of Jones to Scotland’s starting lineup for their final three games of the competition.
Jones got his first century in first-class cricket in the month of April of the year 2022 during the 2022 County Championship, scoring 108 runs against Leicestershire. On May 26, 2022, Michael Alexander Jones played his first Twenty 20 match for Durham in the T20 Blast of that year. Jones was selected for the Scotland T20I team in the month of July of the year 2022 in preparation for their domestic series against New Zealand. Jones amassed 206 runs against Middlesex in the month of July of the year 2022, also during the County Championship, to record his first double century in first-class cricket. Jones played in his first Twenty 20 International (T20I) match for Scotland against New Zealand on July 29, of the year 2022.
