Megan Schutt Biography : Megan Schutt is the Australian women’s cricket professional playing as a medium-fast bowler since 2012 in the international circuit. She has featured for the South Australia Scorpions, which was the domestic team she debuted in 2009. She has also featured in the famous Women’s Big Bash League and holds the record for being the first Australian to pick up the hat-trick in the Women’s T20 International fixture.

Early Life & Journey

Megan Schutt was born in Adelaide to parents, Brian and Sue. The player has a sibling, Natalie (an elder sister) and Warren (a younger brother). The player was born and brought up in Hackham West, a suburb of Adelaide. She attended Hackham West Primary School, which was known as Wirreanda Secondary School. Megan Schutt had a great academic performance.

In her childhood, Schutt loved playing cricket on streets and was asked to fill in for a player in a Seaford club fixture. When asked to bowl in the game, she turned the game on her head by picking a wicket on the first ball. She was scouted by another team and was asked to join them. Flinders University Cricket Club recruited Megan Schutt.

Breaking the barriers, the player moved in a South Australia State cricket pathway as her talent assisted her in featuring for the Under-15, under-17 and under-19 teams of South Australia. Though she was playing the game, Megan Schutt was not really impressed by the sport. She tried featuring in football but returned to cricket soon. The medium pace all rounder made her debut for the Australian team in August 2012, when she was 20 years old. The debut was against their archrivals, New Zealand in Sydney. In her first game, Megan Schutt could not pick a wicket and conceded 33 runs in the five overs she bowled at Sydney Cricket Ground. However, the player played a pivotal role in the dismissal of Sara McGlashan in the fixture.

Since then, Megan Schutt has featured in 79 One-Day International fixtures with over 3755 deliveries being bowled. She has picked up 112 wickets in the due time.
