“Maybe Virat doesn’t like you” – Old video resurfaces after Finch bought by RCB

Australian dasher Aaron Finch was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 4.4 crore in the IPL auctions on Thursday after a bidding war with Kolkata Knight Riders. The 33-year old had missed IPL 2019 to prepare for the World Cup, before which he played for Kings XI Punjab. RCB will be Finch’s eighth IPL team that he will play for, having played for Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors India, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, and Gujarat Lions before.

Interestingly, a conversation that took place between Finch and Aussie skipper Tim Paine during India’s tour of Australia last year revolved just around the theory of why Finch had not represented RCB yet in the IPL. When Rohit Sharma was batting in the middle, Paine and Finch, in a bid to divert the mind of the Indian, got into an interesting conversation, where Paine asked the batter if he had played for all teams in the IPL.

Too many Poms now at the (Rajasthan) Royals. You have played for every team now?”

Finch, in response, said: “Except Bangalore.” Paine went on: “Haven’t you got there? Maybe Virat doesn’t like you.” In reply, Finch said: “No one likes me, that’s why I keep moving.”

The video was shared by Cricket Australia on Twitter if Finch had been picked up by the RCB franchise.

Meanwhile, the team posted an official video where Finch expressed his happiness at coming on board the RCB side.

Hi guys, obviously very excited to join Bangalore this year. Very honoured to been selected by them at the auctions. Can’t wait to get there to meet all the players, the staff and the fans. Thank you very much,” he said in the video.
