Matthew Wade Joins Gujarat Titans as Assistant Coach for IPL 2025

Gujarat Titans, a team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has made a new addition to their coaching staff. Matthew Wade, a former wicketkeeper from Australia, will now work as the team’s assistant coach. This news comes just before the start of the IPL 2025.

Matthew Wade is not new to the Gujarat Titans team. He was a player for them in 2022 when they won the IPL title. At that time, Hardik Pandya was the team’s captain. Wade also played for the team in 2024, but he only played in three matches.

Recently, Matthew Wade retired from playing international cricket. After his retirement, he was not part of the IPL mega auction. Now, he is joining the team in a coaching role.

As a player, Wade had a good record in T20 international matches. He scored 1202 runs in 92 T20Is. Also, as a wicketkeeper, he took 64 dismissals. In the IPL, he played 15 matches.

Now, as an assistant coach, Wade will work with the other coaches in the Gujarat Titans team. He will join head coach Ashish Nehra, batting coach Parthiv Patel, and other assistant coaches Aashish Kapoor and Narender Negi.

The IPL 2025 is set to begin on March 22. The first match will be between the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. This match will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Gujarat Titans will play their first match on March 25. They will play against Punjab Kings at their home ground, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Therefore, Matthew Wade’s experience as a player, especially his time with Gujarat Titans, will be valuable for the team. He knows the team and the IPL well. He can help the players with his knowledge and experience.

Furthermore, his experience as an international player and wicketkeeper will bring another perspective to the coaching staff. In addition, the coaching team is now very strong. With Ashish Nehra as head coach, and experienced assistant coaches like Wade, the team is well set.

Matthew Wade’s appointment as assistant coach is a positive move for Gujarat Titans. He brings his playing experience and knowledge to the team. The team is preparing for the IPL 2025, and Wade will play an important role in their campaign. Fans are excited to see how the team performs with this new coaching setup. They hope the team can repeat their success from 2022.
