Kolkata Knight Riders has added big names like David Hussey and Kyle Mills in their coaching setup on Saturday. Mike Hussey is appointed as chief mentor, while New Zealand pacer Kyle Mills is appointed as bowling coach.

Both Hussey and Mills will be joining hands with head coach Brendon McCullum, who has recently been appointed as the head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders a few months back.

David Hussey has played 64 IPL matches and scored 1322 runs at an average of 26.98 that included 5 fifties. On the other side Kyle Mills never featured in the biggest T20 league even after included in the Mumbai Indians squad in 2009.

McCullum was also credited as superstar in Indian Premier League. He starred in the first season of IPL with 158 runs of just 73 balls in the inaugural game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

“It’s great to welcome David Hussey and Kyle Mills to the Knight Riders Family. They bring a wealth of experience as professionals, and are terrific individuals. We are confident that their contribution as part of the think tank of KKR, and to the KKR Academy, will be invaluable,” Venky Mysore, the CEO and MD of the Knights was quoted as saying in a media statement.

Kolkata Knight Riders managed to win two IPL trophies in 2012 and 2014, but since then the franchise is facing drought in the last 5 seasons.

This season too, KKR captained by Dinesh Karthik failed to live up to the expectations. Apart from Andre Russell and Nitish Rana, other members failed as a team, especially the bowling department.

Kolkata Knight Riders would looking to turn their fortunes with the appointment of McCullum, David Hussey and Kyle Mills in the coaching staff.
