Kieron Pollard apologized to me after the match : Danushka Gunathalika

Kieron Pollard looks to take the advantage of Coronavirus break by getting in a good physical shape

One of the pathetic incidents that took place during the first ODI between West Indies and Sri Lanka at Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua where Sri Lanka batter Gunathalika was given out by the third umpire based on the “obstructing the field” rule which was appealed by Caribbean skipper Pollard.

In the video, it is clearly evident that Gunathalika doesn’t know where the ball is and he is moving back and forth and directing his partner at the non-striker’s end meanwhile Pollard came close to the batter in order to grip the ball and appealed for obstructing the field where the field umpire directed this to Third umpire and eventually the decision by the third umpire was made in favour of fielding team which has been criticized a lot on social media.

However, after the match, Pollard realized his mistake and apologized to Gunathalika which was also shared on West Indies official Twitter handle where they wrote ” @KieronPollard55 and @danushka_70 had a chat at the close of play”

It was also confirmed by the Sri Lanka batter that Pollard came to him and apologized for his mistake as the latter thought I have done that intentionally which was not the case. However, I had no idea where the ball is and my focus was to make sure the non-striker batsman doesn’t get out.
