IPL 2023 : Mumbai Indians finish with 16 points enroute Cameron Green’s excellent 100 against SRH!

5-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians did actually play like a champion team. In front of their home crowd, Rohit Sharma’s side chased down a total of 201 with 2 overs to spare to accumulate as much as 16 points and if RCB doesn’t win tonight, MI are going through.

Last year, MI did the favor on RCB by defeating Delhi Capitals in their final league match to deny a spot in the play-offs. This season, the Mumbai Indians will be backing their former All-rounder Hardik Pandya to lead Gujarat Titans towards a victory at the Chinnaswamy.

But the performance Mumbai Indians displayed with the Bat was exceptional to see. Captain Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan initiated the 2nd inning chase very well before the latter was dismissed for 14. But things got worse for SRH when Cameron Green came out to bat.

He knew what he exactly needed to do and that was to help the team chase down the target as quick as possible. His efforts saws MI win with 12 balls in hand but their net run rate is still in minus (-0.444). RCB on the other hand have a positive net run rate which was especially boosted by the way RCB depleted Rajasthan Royals and their play-off chances.

But the man in focus is Cameron Green who registered splendid figures against bottom sided SRH. Green was batting at a strike rate of 200+, scoring 8 Sixes and fours and also smacked his first IPL century in his debut IPL campaign. And now it remains to be seen if his efforts will get the compliment of the reigning champions victory vs RCB.
