IPL 2023 : MI Bowling coach Shane Bond will do anything it takes to increase Arjun Tendulkar’s pace!

Shane Bond, the bowling coach for the Mumbai Indians and a former New Zealand pacer, has stated that he will attempt to increase Arjun Tendulkar’s pace. Arjun, who has participated in four IPL games so far and taken three wickets, currently bowls at a speed of about 130 kph and for that reason he has become a subject of criticism.

During Mi’s 6th league stage fixture against Punjab Kings, Arjun Tendulkar was on the news for all the wrong reasons as he conceded 31 runs in one over to finish with figures of 1/48 in 3 overs. In his first 2 overs, Tendulkar gave away just 17 runs but he was bowling in front of T20 World Champion with England Sam Curran.

However, he made a decent comeback last night against Gujarat Titans where he picked up a wicket of Wriddhimann Saha and conceded just 9 runs but Rohit Sharma made him bowl only 2 overs. Since making his debut, Arjun has picked up 3 wickets in 4 matches and as of now his economy rate remains a concern which is at 9.36 per over.

“He did well, obviously after what happened in the last game. It’s never easy to step out onto the ground that is a Colosseum with a big crowd. We will work on increasing his pace, but he did all that was asked of him today.” Bond said after MI were beaten by 55 runs.

If we talk a little about Arjun Tendulkar’s journey then he has previously represented Mumbai in domestic cricket but as of now he plays for Goa. In 7 first class matches, Arjun Tendulkar has 12 wickets with an economy rate of 3.42 and has 15 wickets in 13 Syed Mushtaq Ali fixtures.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals in their next match at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday April 30th. MI are 7th in the points table with 6 points.
