IPL 2023 : CSK Vs GT : Chennai’s Fast bowler Tushar Deshpande becomes the first Impact player!

Mumbai born Fast bowler Tushar Deshpande became the first player to get subbed on and become the first Impact player in the history of IPL. He came on for Chennai Super Kings and replaced Batter Ambati Rayudu in the second innings of their opening IPL 16 fixture against Gujarat Titans here at at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Rayadu was a member of the starting lineup and scored 12 runs in CSK’s 178-run total before being bowled, making him Josh Little’s first league dismissal.

When Gujarat’s innings got going, the home team also made a change, dispatching Sai Sudarshan in place of Kane Williamson. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s shot was blocked from going for a six by the New Zealand ace, who hurt himself in the process. Off the earth, he needed assistance.

In regional competitions like the Ranji Trophy, pacer Deshpande, 27, plays for the Mumbai cricket squad. He recently discussed the influence Chennai captain MS Dhoni had on him. Deshpande only participated in two games for Chennai the previous season.

Deshpande will compete in his third IPL season in 2023. He earlier participated in games for the Delhi Capitals.

“When the season ended, I had a chat with Mahi bhai. He told me a few things that helped me grow as a bowler and as an individual. That helped me perform really well in the First-Class season. I ended up picking a total of 51 wickets, which was never achieved by anyone from my state.

And the one thing which I learnt from Mahi bhai is how you own the game. You take the responsibility on yourself when the team is under pressure or is struggling.” – Deshpande added.
