Delhi Capitals would want nothing less than a win when they take on Mumbai Indians at Dubai International Stadium. Mumbai side are on 16 points, have qualified to playoffs and look most likely to finish on top two die to their healthy net run rate. They are up against a Delhi side who have lost last three matches and could possibly slip out of top four if they lose any more matches.

They still are placed better because if a consistent run in the first phase of the tournament. Delhi were beaten in the previous match between two teams and they know they have to play out of their skins to have any chance of defeating Mumbai. Mumbai have been firing all cylinders and all of their players look winning matches on their own. Rohit might again sit out, but even without him, Mumbai doesn’t look less dangerous.
Surya Kumar Yadav has made a statement of intent in the previous game with a high-class knock and it looks that call for Indian National team is around the corner. De Kock would like to continue his good run and also Kishan who has been brilliant throughout. MI does not look will make any changes in playing X1. Their bowlers have been taking wickets with Bumrah leading from the front.
Delhi Capitals should start playing the way they did in the first phase of IPL with intent and result will take care of itself. Rahane, Pant, Iyer should support Dhawan to build a base so that likes of Stoinis and Hetmyer will then go blitzkrieg at death. DC cannot afford to have another off day as that will hit their chances of qualifying as top 2 sides, who get an extra chance for a shot at final.
Their bowling has gone off track and Ponting-Hartis (bowling coach) would like to get it on track so that they have more chance of winning as it was evident in the first phase that their bowling defended scores and restricted teams also while bowling first. Rabada, Nortje and spin duo of Ashwin-Axar have to strike at regular intervals to break the momentum of MI batting.
If MI lose then it won’t impact them but a defeat for DC and they might slip from playoff position. Delhi looks shaky and uncertain whereas MI look covered in all facets and start the game as favourites.
