IPL 2020: Brad Hogg suggests two big changes in CSK’s playing XI ahead of SRH clash

Chennai Super Kings will play their do-or-die game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday. Dhoni and Co. have exhibited below-par performances in the tournament so far, having won just 2 games in 7 matches. Former Australian spinner has suggested a couple of major changes in the playing XI of CSK ahead of the clash against SRH.

Hogg has suggested that CSK should promote Sam Curran at number three position, which is currently occupied by Ambati Rayudu. Sam Curran, being a left-handed batsman can add dimension up the order.

I would bring Sam Curran from the lower order up to No.3. That left-hander would break all the right-handers that you have got at the top of the order. And he can also play with a little bit of freedom as he has done with a lot of T20 franchises around the world as well as England,” Hogg said in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel.

Brag Hogg also wants Imran Tahir to replace Dwayne Bravo in the squad. Imran Tahir was the highest wicket-taker last season. The South African spinner, surprisingly, hasn’t played a single game in the tournament so far.

I will bring in Tahir instead of Bravo. Sorry Bravo, you are one of my favourites but you need more spin in your line-up if you are going to make inroads going forward. I will keep Jagadeeshan in the team as well. It is great to see an up and coming cricketer from Tamil Nadu playing for the Chennai Super Kings,” he explained.

Skipper MS Dhoni, who has enjoyed the best season last year, hasn’t had much success with the bat in IPL 2020. For CSK to make a comeback, MS Dhoni needs to step up to the plate and play a few ravishing knocks with the bat.
