Steve Smith Biography

Ahead of locking horns against Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith said that his side has failed to produce their best version in last two matches.

Royals after winning their first two games in Sharjah failed to win last two matches they played against Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively. Royals are currently at the fourth position in the points table by securing four points will be eager to correct their mistake in the upcoming clash against defending champion  Mumbai Indians.

“The last two games haven’t gone to plan for us after what was a really good start to the tournament. But I guess that’s the way T20 cricket goes sometimes. We haven’t played our best games in our last two and have been outplayed by the opposition on both occasions. It’s about regrouping and moving forward now, trying to get better and get some wins on the board in the coming games,” Smith said in the franchise’s official release.

Taking about Smith’s individual performance he has scored 127 runs from four matches he has played till now with the best score of 69 against Chennai Super Kings. The biggest problems royals have faced in last two matches as they failed to develop good opening partnership however Stokes coming back to the side will definitely strengthen their squad and it will also be interesting to see that who will sit outside to make way for the superstar all-rounder as only four overseas player are allowed per game. Smith also talked about how they will have to approach the upcoming games in detail.

“Hopefully I’m able to score a few runs tomorrow. I’ve missed out on the last two games but that happens. We’ll see which of our players fit in our plans for tomorrow’s match and fit in certain scenarios in the game and try and get the best match-ups for Mumbai,” the skipper said.

Sanju Samson is the top run-scorer for the side so far with 171 runs including two fifties whereas pacer Jofra Archer is the highest wicket-getter for Rajasthan with four wickets from four matches they have played till now in the ongoing edition of the IPL 2020.
