Gautam Gambhir slams Indian team management for not picking Kuldeep Yadav in the first Test against England

Former Indian cricketer and current BJP MP Gautam Gambhir is always known for his frank opinion off the field. He comes in category of those cricketers who wears his heart on his sleeves.

He slams Indian team management for not picking Kuldeep Yadav in the first Test against England at  Chennai.

As Kuldeep who made his debut in Test format in 2017 has played only 6 matches so far in longest version of the game where he clinched 24 wickets.

Also at the last moment Shabhaz Nadeem was given preferences and included in the squad to which Gambhir said ” Its unfortunate for Kuldeep to be honest. I thought they should have actually picked Kuldeep against England. A wrist spinner is a rare commodity. He has been with the team, he hasn’t played any cricket so Kuldeep would have been a great asset,” .

“A lot of time we have seen how a wrist spinner can turn the game. It’s a little unfortunate and a bit surprised as well that they are playing with two off-spinners. Yes probably because they want more depth in the batting at no.7 and no.8. Again a big surprise was Ishant Sharma because he hasn’t played a lot of red-ball cricket,” he added

However Gambhir was not alone who questioned Kuldeep Yadav’s omission there were several tweets including Aakash Chopra,Mohammad Kaif and Dooda Ganesh questioning Team management intention about not selecting wrist spinner in the squad against England. Let’s have a look at all those Tweets.

As far as Chinaman is concerned he had a rough IPL 2020 as he didn’t played several matches for KKR instead Varun Chakravarthy was given preference ahead of him.
