England cricket team 2018

Eoin Morgan-led side will be eager to clinch ODI series victory under their belt against India which will start from March 23rd, 2021 in Pune.

On Sunday English selectors announced their ODI squad who will be competing against the host in a three-match series where Joe Root and Jofra Archer is not included as the former has been granted rest and the latter will be heading home to recover from his elbow injury and in the process, he will also leave the initial stages of IPL 2021 starting from April 9th, 2021 for Rajasthan Royals.

Taking about the ongoing series the visitors have been winning the first match of the series and then not picking the momentum at the right time and eventually losing the series against the host by 3-1 and 3-2 in the recently concluded Test and T20 series respectively.

As both, the teams will be gearing up for the ODI series scheduled at Maharastra Cricket Association in Pune. The visitors will certainly miss the services of Joe root who is their prime batsman in this format and Jofra Archer who has been leading their attack in past few years in all forms of the game.

However, a couple of changes have been introduced by ECB and one such name is leg-spinner Matt Parkinson who has earned a spot in the team after one year.  Liam Livingstone and Reece Topley have been included in the ODI squad as they were part of the recently concluded T20 squad but didn’t get an opportunity to play.

The players like Jake Ball, Chris Jordan, and Dawid Malan have been added as cover for England ahead of the upcoming series.
