CSK Beat KKR By 7 wickets, Go Top Of The Table

csk vs kkr summary ;Chennai Super Kings’s love affair with M.A. Chidambaram stadium continues as the Men in Yellow outclassed Kolkata Knight Riders, winning the match by seven wickets on Tuesday. Faf Du Plessis played another fine inning for Chennai Super Kings. The South African batsman held his innings together while chasing a modest 108 against KKR on Tuesday. The South African scored 43 runs off 45 deliveries, helping CSK register a seven-wicket victory, and in the process, lifted to number one position on the table.

Chasing a modest 108, Shane Watson was the first one to get out for Chennai, after hitting two fours and one six in his innings of 17 off 9 balls. Suresh Raina came with just one thing in his mind, i.e., to hit every ball out of the park. Narine castled Raina for the fourth time in the Indian Premier League. The South Paw’s cameo of 14 off 13 included one four and one six. The match looked poised till that time, with CSK reeling at 35-2 in 4 overs. However, Du Plessis and Rayudu ruined KKR hopes, stitching a 46-run partnership to take the total past 80, as Dhoni and Co. won the match in the end with 16 balls still left to be played.

Knowing the fact that CSK’s biggest bets such as Lungi Ngidi and Dwayne Bravo have been out of action, CSK showed how balanced they are as a team. Playing at their home ground, the bowlers bundled out Kolkata Knight Riders to 108 runs in twenty overs.
In-form Andre Russel continued to impress amidst KKR collapse, as barring the West Indian all-rounder no other batsman could score more than 20 runs on a pitch where the ball was turning half-a-kilometer.

CSK claimed as many as four wickets in the power play overs, courtesy some brilliant bowling from Deepak Chahar and Harbhajan Singh. Deepak Chahar had the first blood in the form of Chris Lynn only in his first over. Bhaji got rid of Narine in the next over as CSK sent both their opening batsmen out in just two overs.
Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana too didn’t work didn’t show the need to stay longer at the crease, with KKR losing both the batsmen in the next two overs.
Imran Tahir took it from there, who sent skipper Kartik in the ninth over, followed by Shubhman Gill as KKR were reeling at 49 for 6 in 11 overs.

KKR were on course to score one of their worst totals in their first innings, however, Andre Russel drew them out of trouble once again, getting them past 100 on Tuesday. The West Indian notched his second half-century of the tournament, scoring an unbeaten 50 off 44 deliveries.
Though, 108 still proved to be 30-40 runs short against a powerful CSK batting line up, as Dhoni and Co. registered their fifth win of the tournament.
