Chennai Super Kings 2021 Team Preview

  • Captain: Mahendra Singh Dhoni
  • Home Ground: Chepauk Stadium Chennai
  • Owners : India cement.

IPL’s second most successful team had a season to forget last year as the team failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since the inaugural season of IPL in 2008. A major setback came in very early for them in the season when their Chinna Thala withdrew himself from the tournament in the earlier stages due to personal reasons which is believed to be unable to cope up with the quarantine restrictions. A team which is also called the Dad’s Army performed because of the highest average age of their team, performed as their name suggested. Having won the title in 2019 after a comeback from a ban, this might have just  been the worst title defence ever. As with new years, expectations increase and certainly with the reputation CSK hold, expectations are over the roof. The good news for them is their captain Mr MS Dhoni and their Vice Captain,  both are have informed about their availability to the franchise which will be a big boost for them coming into the new season. Chennai Super Kings have also managed to retain most of their players but players making way out is Kedar Jadav who had a forgetful last season, two veterans Harbhajan Singh and Shane Watson, who are retiring, Piyush Chawla, whom them bought last year from KKR, who managed to have an impact on the team and Murali Vijay.
