Breaking News: New Zealand Women squad announced for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20I World Cup

The New Zealand Women’s Cricket Association, also known as the White Ferns, has announced their squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20I World Cup which is to take place in South Africa.

The squad will be led by Sophie Devine, who is a great captain and has been with the team for many years now. Bernadine Bezuidenhout has been called up to the New Zealand squad after almost three years and is the designated wicketkeeper. Suzie Bates, Lea Tahuhu, Amelia Kerr, Hannah Rowe, and Hayley Jensen are some of the experienced and important players from New Zealand’s perspective.

Jessica Kerr who is a T20I specialist has also been selected in the squad along with Lauren Down, Molly Penfold, etc. The whole squad is as follows –

Sophie Devine (c), Suzie Bates, Bernadine Bezuidenhout, Eden Carson, Lauren Down, Maddy Green, Brooke Halliday, Hayley Jensen, Fran Jonas, Amelia Kerr, Jessica Kerr, Molly Penfold, Georgia Plimmer, Hannah Rowe, Lea Tahuhu.

The New Zealand Women’s team is in the Group A of the competition which is to begin from 10th February 2023. The White Ferns will be playing their first league match against Australia Women on 11th February 2023 in Paarl from 10:30 pm IST. Sri Lanka Women, South Africa Women, and Bangladesh Women are the other teams that share the group with New Zealand Women.

New Zealand Women have a strong squad and will be hoping to go all the way in this edition of the World Cup.
