Big Blow to New Zealand! Two players injured, key player refused to play

New Zealand cricket team

Prior to their Pakistan tour, two of the key players in the New Zealand Cricket Team were eliminated from this series. Because of fitness issues with Adam Milne and Finn Allen, the team will not make both these players play in the five match T20 match series against Pakistan.

Their seating has been replaced with two Kiwi players, Tom Blundell and uncapped player Zak Foulkes respectively. Moreover, Tom Bruce was also rumored to be part of the squad, but he declined the invitations citing family issues to stay put in the country. As a result, Zak Foulkes will get the best possible opportunity of playing in the team.

Both Finn Allen and Adam Milne were injured during the practice session. Finn Allen is diagnosed with a back injury while Adam Milne hurts the ankle. Therefore, they both are out of the team list for the oncoming tour to Pakistan. However, a query appears in both the player’s participation in the T20 World Cup as to whether they will be ready for the tournament or not?

Finn Allen has a name for himself in the cricket world and he is one of the best in T20. The explosive batting of Finn Allen is quite a thing and his strike rate is 163.60. Whereas nothing can be said yet about meeting Adam. It depends on how many fast bowlers New Zealand wants to select.

Coach Gary Stead comment of player’s injury

New Zealand head coach Gary Stead reacted to the injuries to Finn Allen and Adam Milne. He said,

We feel bad for both Finn Allen and Adam Milne. Both these players got injured even before the start of the tour. His performance in T20 has been very good since the last World Cup. Our medical team and support staff will work on them.

Many veteran players of New Zealand are already not a part of the Pakistan tour because of the Indian Premier League. In such a situation, the host team New Zealand has suffered a blow due to the exclusion of Finn Allen and Adam Milne.
