Bayern Munich and Arsenal drew 2-2 in a Champions League league-phase match at the Allianz Arena on 21 October 2026. Harry Kane scored a penalty and set up another goal for the hosts, before Declan Rice struck late to rescue a point for the visitors.

Arsenal's Eberechi Eze scored in the 25th minute, and Alphonso Davies levelled in the 35th. Kane put Bayern ahead from the penalty spot in the 61st minute, and Rice equalised in the 82nd. Eze had come on for Bukayo Saka, who limped off injured in the 10th minute.

Kane's penalty was awarded after his shot struck the arm of Jurrien Timber. He also created Davies' equaliser, playing a through ball from inside the centre circle. David Raya later saved a close-range header from Davies as Bayern pushed for a winner.

Rice's goal came at the end of a passing move involving Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres. He finished from an acute angle past Manuel Neuer. The goal denied Arsenal a first defeat in 14 league-phase or group-stage games in the competition.

Bayern were without the suspended Michael Olise, while Joshua Kimmich was missing because of a death in his family. Their coach, Vincent Kompany, was on the touchline despite a viral infection. Kane has now scored in 10 consecutive Champions League games.

Kane said: "A little bit of disappointment, but I think a draw was a fair result." He also joked: "I always seem to get penalties against Arsenal!" Asked about winning the Ballon d'Or, he said: "It would be a massive honour." Rice said: "We are going to match them."

Kane, who is 33, is on the 30-man Ballon d'Or shortlist, with Lamine Yamal and Lionel Messi among his rivals. Last season he scored 67 goals in 58 games for Bayern across all competitions, including 36 in 31 Bundesliga games. Rice is also on the 2026 men's shortlist.

Arsenal's winning run in the league phase had stood at 14 games. They have 7 points from 3 games, with 2 wins and 1 draw. The 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony takes place on Monday 26 October at the London Palladium Theatre, starting at 20:00 GMT.
