Mumbai opener Ayush Mhatre has suffered a Grade 4 tear of his right hamstring, ESPNcricinfo reported. He was injured while batting on the opening day of Mumbai's Ranji Trophy match against Chandigarh.
Reports differ on how long he will be out. ESPNcricinfo said about a month, The Hindu six weeks, and The Indian Express two months. Hindustan Times said he is likely to miss the first half of the Ranji season.
The Times of India reported that the injury soured Mumbai's win.
