That is the reason, he is regarded as the best Test batsman among all the active players. There have been a number of Australian batsmen, who have done extremely well at Old Trafford.

3. Steve Waugh 

Another legendary batsman on the list is Steve Waugh. He scored 397 runs in only 3 matches. He is averaging close to a hundred at this venue. In the 3rd Test match of the 1997 Ashes series, he scored twin Test tons. That is to date considered one of the best performances of Ashes. 

2. Steven Smith 

At this venue Steve Smith is as good as Bradman. He has scored 401 runs in only 2 Test matches. He was able to achieve this feat with a double century, and two fifties. This is truly a magnificent contribution. 

1. Allan Border 

The former Australian captain has scored over 11000 runs in Test Cricket, and at this venue, he is the highest run-getter. He scored 416 runs in 4 matches, at an average of 83.20. 

There is no doubt that Steve Smith has a good chance to surpass Allan Border. He only needs to get 16 more runs for that. Now let’s wait for the historical Test match to begin.
