Three most controversial moments in the Ashes 2023

The Test has certainly shown more instances of sledding, and aggression than any other format of Cricket. Three of those from the Ashes 2023 are mentioned below.

Ollie Robinson’s send-off to Usman Khawaja

In the first test match, Usman Khawaja got a brilliant hundred, and that was a big reason behind the victory of Australia. In the end, it was Ollie Robinson, who got the wicket of Khawaja, on a brilliant yorker. However, after getting hit by a wicket, the way he sent off Khawaja, was not considered right. Even in the press conference he didn’t accept his fault and took the reference of Ricky Ponting.

Jonny Bairstow’s stumping

On day 5 of the 2nd Test match, when it was not clear, which way the match would turn. A controversial run-out took place. At the end of the over, Jonny Bairstow thought the ball was dead. So, he casually started walking toward the other end of the pitch. Right at that time Alex Carey stumped him.

Ball change on the Day 4 of the final Test

On Day 4 it looked like Australia had a great chance to win the Test series because they got the opening stand of over 100 runs. However, after the 37th over the ball was changed, and the replaced ball looked newer. This was opposed even by the experts like Ricky Ponting. The result was that the whole Australian team collapsed soon, and England won the match.

So, these are the top three controversies of the Ashes 2023. This shows how badly both teams wanted to win this series.
