Danielle Gibson, who plays for Western Storm, has been selected for the England T20I squad for the Ashes series against Australia. She was a travelling reserve for the T20 World Cup and was also named in the squad for the Ashes Test.
Heather Knight will captain the England T20I squad, which includes Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Kate Cross, Freya Davies, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Danielle Gibson, Sarah Glenn, Amy Jones, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Issy Wong, Lauren Winfield-Hill, and Danielle Wyatt.

Issy Wong, who missed the bus for the World Cup in February, has been selected by England. Wong played in the Women’s Premier League for Mumbai Indians, taking 15 wickets. Only Meg Lanning and teammate Nat Sciver-Brunt took more wickets. Wong also played for the England Women A side against Australia A in recent fixtures.

She has shown great form at the regional level and has the potential to make an impact whenever she is called upon. Issy Wong returns to the T20 squad after her success with the Mumbai Indians in the Women’s Premier League. It will be thrilling to witness how she has advanced and matured from those experiences.
Among the 16-member squad, regular players include Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Freya Davies, Charlie Dean, Sarah Glenn, and Lauren Winfield-Hill. All of them participated in the showpiece event this year, where Heather Knight’s side reached the semis.
After the Test match that concluded on June 26, the women’s Ashes series will move to the shortest format. The first of the three T20Is will be held at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 1. Two points are up for grabs in each fixture, with the next two games scheduled for July 5 and 8 at the Oval and Lord’s in London.
