Sunil Chhetri, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, and Sandesh Jhingan have been excluded from the Indian football team
this is for the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
The three players were expected to be included in the squad, as they are all over the age of 23
and the team is allowed to have three overage players.
However, their names were not included in the list of athletes submitted to the organizers of the Asian Games.
The AIFF President, Praful Patel, has requested that the accreditation of the three players be processed as soon as possible
He has also said that he is "surprised and disappointed" that their names were not included in the initial list.
The exclusion of Chhetri, Sandhu, and Jhingan is a major blow to the Indian team.
